First Holiday Semester

Holiday is here!! And I spent the first 3 days in Temburong and Limbang with my family.

MKJB Consultation Day

Our college MKJB had Consultation Day starting from today and on Saturday (7/03/13 & 9/03/13). Outsiders came to our open day, many of them are from O-level & A-level graduates looking for courses to join. There are several new courses opened like Design & Manufacturing (Mechanical Engineering) & Mechatronic Engineering. My sister also came to apply at MKJB and survey for courses that she is interested in.

Flat Tyre

This morning I had a flat tyre. I came to college as usual and park behind the auditorium. There were students sitting outside the auditorium waiting to enter & sit for a test. When I came out, my friend called me and told me that my tyre at the back on the right side was flat. I didn't even noticed my tyre was flat when I was back at home. Feeling blank and not knowing what to do. I went over to the marine study hall and told my classmates. Luckily they offered to change my tyre for me. I had a spare but it was almost bold but it should have to do for a while.

During lunch break, I took my car to Tyremart with my friend. They checked it and a screw pierced in it. I had no idea where I got it. Anyway, they fixed my tyre and change it back. Went home quite late for lunch and my mother was curious. I told her everything and that was it.

Group 1 Maths Presentation

Happy Chinese New Year

Last Monday, 11th February. We went for Chinese New Year with our family & relatives.

Maths Assignment

Last Saturday on 9th February 2013, we were given our first Maths Assignment on trigonometry. We were asked to create a Clinometer using a straw, a protractor, tape, a string and a mass (5-10 grams). A clinometer is an instrument for measuring angles of slope (or tilt), elevation or depression of an object. We were told to go outside to measure any object that are too tall to be measured by ruler and present it the next week.

MIB Presentation

On Thursdays, 7th February & 14th February. We had presentation on MIB Assignment in Groups. All Dip 1 MRE 'A', 'B' & 'C'. We had to present on the topics we did previously at Lecture Theatre. So far, only a few groups had already presented.

Tazkirah Maulud

On 6th February 2013, last Wednesday. Our group, Dip 1 MRE 'B' had a talk on Tazkirah Maulud in conjunction of the Maulidur Rasul previously. Some of the other groups were called also to hear about the talk from Imam Zulkifli Bin Md Jefri. It started at 2.15 pm during ECA at Surau MKJB.

Final Year Project Proposal Presentation

Last Wednesday, our group had a presentation on the Final Year Project Proposal. Everyone had great ideas for their project. As for mine, I am working on Solar Ship Propulsion and here is my presentation slides.

Sukan Ria Sambutan Hari Guru MKJB 2012

On the 26th November 2012, an event for teachers day was held by the BKP & SR 12/13. An activity of sports day to excite the fun for the instructors in MKJB. They were divided into 4 groups. Before the activity starts, the instructors were asked to do a warm up, aerobic exercises instructed by one of the BKPs, Nazery Nain and his assistant Rafiuddin.

After the aerobic warm up, each group were asked to choose a leader and to make a trademark. Every group has a different & unique trademarks.

There were four games held on that day, the first one was basketball. Each group has to choose one instructor to come up to the front and hold the basket. While the rest shoots, the trick is the instructors who has to catch the ball cannot move but only their arms and body. Their feet has to stay where it is.

The second game was Back-Heel Kick. The instructors have to kick a ball at a range of distance using their heel. It may sound easy but it is actually harder than it looks.

The next game was Draw & Guess. It was a game they got from a korean reality show. Each group has to pick a piece of paper from the box. When instructed to open the paper, the instructor at the most back has to draw the object written on the paper in 10 seconds. Then show it to the instructor in front, he/she has to draw what they saw in 10 seconds and it goes on to the rest of the instructors along the line of each group. The most front has to guess what the picture drawn by the instructor is.

The last game was the Monster, Wizard & Dwarf game. It is quite similar with rock-paper-scissors game. the instructors enjoyed this one and it was quite funny.

After all he activities were finished, the scores were totaled for each team. The winner of the sports day was team A, second runner up was Team C, 3rd runner up was Team B and lastly Team D. The prizes were awarded to the teams.
